The Japanese-style room I booked had air conditioning. the staff were exceptionally friendly and affable. the location was convenient, close to the train station. There was an adobe museum located just 1 mile away from the property.

It costs 1500yen per night, and that's what you get. Absolute barebones stuff.
The website does not mention this anywhere but this is a mens' only hotel! This caused a lot of embarrassment and hassle for the female travelers in our group

It it not hotel where you can stay. It was very big error to make resrvation there. You can stay in this hotel if you are very very very poor and can't pay more than 15 euro per night. I made raservation in this hotel because all hotels was reserved. Terrible area, terrible hotel.

The people are too much cooperative. They can help you any way. I was facing language problem but the person who belongs to Hotel Wako helped me a lot.

You get what you pay for: a really cheap and basic accommodation. The staff is kind, the hotel is located close to a subway and jr station (easy access to downtown Osaka and Nara). The rooms are clean and have wifi, there are common kitchens.
The area is a bit dodgy but still safe. There is one shower for the hotel so sometimes you might wait a while (the shower is avaliable in specific hours only).

The hotel is about a 5 min walk from the nearest JR station, but this station has a direct line to Kansai Airport. The staff is very friendly, but only speaks Japanese. I had to check out by 9 AM, but they gave me an extra 30 min! There is only 1 shower for women, but it was very clean.
Not every floor has western toilets. The room is very small. (but I think normal for Japanese standards)

The staff there were very nice, and the location of the hostel is quite near supermarket and subway stations.
It may be danger to back hostel at night after 9pm as there were hardly any people around the hostel and there are many small bars near the hostel which may be danger to some girls if they back hostel alone at night after 9pm.

You get what you pay for. This is the absolute worst part of Japan, if you think about beauty. I am happy I went there so I could see there also was a dark side to Japan. This is slum, with many poor and homeless people. I won't call it dangerous, but smelly and dirty I will.
Tourists from South Africa often stay at these properties. Ideas for your future trips.
